help_outlineWhich class is right for me?

expand_more

If you have never danced Bachata before, or are unsure of your rhythm, Bachata Beginner is the right place. If you know the basic steps, timing, and fundamental turn structures, Bachata Intermediate is perfect. If you've been social dancing regularly and can execute key sensual, moderna, and dominican moves with clean technique, consider Bachata Advanced. See our courses page for an overview or ask our teachers for a recommendation.

help_outlineWhen can I join a course?

expand_more

For Intermediate, Advanced, or Musicality & Styling, you can join anytime. For Beginner, the course restarts every 2 months. See the courses page for the next starting point.

help_outlineHow do I move to the next course?

expand_more

At the end of every month, you can come to your teachers and tell them you want to progress. We will advise whether this is a good idea or clarify what skills need improvement. We give a recommendation but ultimately, it is the students' decision which course to do.

help_outlineWhat styles of Bachata do you teach?

expand_more
We teach a comprehensive mix:
  • Bachata Sensual: Flowing body isolations, waves, and close connection (popularized by Korke & Judith).
  • Bachata Moderna: Cross-body leads, urban turn configurations, and footwork styling.
  • Dominican Bachata: Authentic footwork patterns, syncopated rhythms, and traditional Dominican musicality.
  • Bachazouk: Fluid circular movements, head movements, and flow elements adapted from Brazilian Zouk.

info What to Expect

help_outlineDo I need to sign up with a partner?

expand_more

No! You do not need a partner. In all our classes, we rotate partners frequently. This is standard in Bachata learning as it builds adaptiveness, teaches leading and following correctly, and helps you make friends. If you explicitly prefer to only dance with your partner, just let the instructors know at the start of class.

help_outlineWhat should I wear and bring?

expand_more

Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely. To protect the wooden dance floor, please do not wear street shoes in our studio. Shoes should be clean dance shoes with a white sole. If you don't have dance shoes, no problem -- socks are fine. Don't forget to bring a bottle of water!

help_outlineDo I need to speak German?

expand_more

No, our international team speaks English, German, Portuguese, Arabic, and Spanish.

Yes! We are an official Hansefit partner. Simply scan our Hansefit QR code at the reception desk before class starts to check in. No prior online booking or Stripe registration is required.

If you would like to attend two classes in one day (e.g. Wednesday Intermediate at 7:00 PM followed directly by Musicality & Styling at 8:00 PM), you can check in using Hansefit for the first class, and sign up for our regular weekly One course per week plan (€45/month) to cover the second course.
